The goal at Mike Poynter Photography is to captures the true spirit of a child in our portraits

Sessions usually take around an hour and are done in at your home or another outdoor location of your choice. It is best to choose a place where your child will feel comfortable. Somewhere familiar where your child can enjoy playing & be him/herself.

The session will be led by your child so if he/she doesn’t want to sit then that’s OK. Mike or Jamie will follow your child around & there will always be time to stop should your child need a hug from mom or dad. Try to schedule your session for the time of day when your child is usually feeling best. Young children are usually best in the morning. We ask that only parents come to the session as too many people can over-stimulate a child. That is, of course, unless you are actually having a large family portrait. We want the session to be as enjoyable as possible for everyone involved. If your child is enjoying the session we will get the best expressions and her personality will be reflected in the portraits that are created.

We may be photographers but we are just big kids also. We are also about to be proud parents of Phoebey Poynter in October when she is born!
