A WORD FROM THE PHOTOGRAPHER
Hello, and welcome to Appalachia Weddings. I
would be honored if given the opportunity to capture your special day.
Being a lifetime resident of Kentucky I know the Appalachia community.
My wife and I were married in Eastern Kentucky so I know how hard it
is to find a photographer that is willing to travel to certain areas
to shoot that special day. It is also tough to find someone who will
take the time and effort it takes to capture the special moments of
your day. It is even more of a challenge to find someone that loves
the art and doesn't look at it as just a job.
Each wedding is unique and should be treated
as such. One of my fondest memories from a wedding occurred in Pine
Mountain Settlement in Southeastern Kentucky. By looking at the picture
on the left you will see a beautiful 1800s stone chapel which looks
like something out of a dream. Even though on this special day it was
in the mid 90s I would do it all again since I had so much fun being
the photographer at this wedding.
The brides family was from the Appalachia area
and dedicate their lives to taking care of the culture and nurturing
the land. Some may call them hippies but I would call them wonderful
people that the world needs more of. By the end of the day I felt like
a member of the family and was treated as such. My face actually hurt
from smiling so much.
I find that at most weddings the family embraces
me and treats me as if I were a family member or friend. I often find
myself smiling and enjoying watching and capturing the moments. I love
what I do and it shows. I am thankful that I have been fortunate enough
in life to find something I love to do. Photography isn't a job, it
is my life.
Appalachia Weddings is dedicate to the appalachian
regions of Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio, Virginia and West Virginia. We
will gladly travel to any of these areas to capture the moments of your
special day in your special place.
