- How long before we can view the images?
We like to have your photographs online by the time you return from your honeymoon. This is usually about two weeks but if it is the busy season it can take a bit longer.
- How long before I receive the wedding album?
Depending on the revision time, it should take about 6 weeks.
- Why should I hire a professional photographer instead of good old Uncle Joe?
A professional is just a guest at your wedding. A professional will be timely and will get you quality results to you. A professional has just the right equipment and backup equipment. Having attended may weddings an experienced wedding photographer will be at ease at your wedding which will help put you at ease. A professional uses a color lab that is in the business of meeting high professional standards or print quality. A real pro is also used to working with individuals, couples, and groups to make the formal photography go smoothly. When you think about the cost of photography you have to keep in mind that the photographer's fee is only part of your investment: You, your parents, your extended family and your friends will be investing time with the photographer during your wedding. Don't waste time on your wedding day with a photographer who won't produce the results and memories you will cherish for the rest of your lives.
- What do I look for - how can I tell good from bad photography ?
Look for the photography you like and that meets these standards: 1) Impact - The images should tell a story of the moment. 2) Correct color, density and focus. Most images should have a ful range of tones. Is the work bright or washed out? Are the images out of focus? Are the eyes natural or contain red? A good photographer will create gorgeous photographers beginning till end. 3) Posure - this is in the traditional portraits. Does everyone look nice. Are ties straight, the ladies hair in place, the brides dress displayed well? The last thing you want is a picture of the bride with smudged makeup, hair out of place, her necklace hanging crooked, and her dress just tossed how ever.
- Why is wedding photography so expensive?
Experience, experience, experience. A professional has had the opportunity to photograph hundreds of weddings. With that much experience, practice and training a photographer becomes worthy since they can provide quality work time and time again. A pro will not only give you beautiful images but give you quality prints that will last a life time. You have to remember that your children and grandchildren will be looking at your wedding photos. In the long run having spent a little extra is worth it.
- Is there a retainer fee?
Yes, the retainer fee is $250.00. The retainer fee reserves the date and is just an advance.
The remaining balance is due no later than 1 week before the wedding day.
- Will you location scout the wedding?
Yes, if I am not familiar with the location, I will scout the location prior to the wedding.
- What kind of equipment do you use?
I use a Canon 5D digital SLR with a multitude of L series Canon lenses.
- Do you bring backup equipment?
Yes, I also bring a Canon Rebel Xti digital SLR to serve as a back up camera just in case.
- Will we get DVD’s of all the photos and can we make prints ourselves?
Yes, most of our packages include the digital negatives.
- What other questions should I ask?
You only get married once so most people have no clue what to ask. I will sit down with you and answer questions that you didn't even think to ask. Jamie and I understand that this is a big decision and a chuck of money.
